In terms of passenger demographics, Mainland Chinese travelers accounted for 55%, local residents for 12%, and international travelers for 17%, with an annual growth of 8%.

Cargo operations performed better, with a total volume exceeding 109,000 tons, reflecting an approximate year-on-year growth of 1%. However, the company’s total annual revenue is estimated at around 1.354 billion patacas, down 8.5% year-on-year.

Looking ahead to 2026, Macau International Airport expects improvements across various metrics, with a target passenger throughput of 8.14 million, flight movements increasing to 63,000, cargo volume rising to 110,000 tons, and private jet movements anticipated at 1,200.

Regarding future development plans, the Executive Committee Chairman, Chan Weng Hong, stated in an interview that the Hengqin Forward Freight Station is scheduled to have its superstructure completed by the end of 2026, with preparations for operation in the first half of 2027.

To accommodate land reclamation and maintenance work, the airport will implement a nighttime suspension of operations (from midnight to 8 a.m.) for approximately three years, from the end of October 2026 to the end of October 2029, with an expected minor overall impact.

Additionally, a food kiosk will open on the 2nd floor of the northern part of the terminal in April, featuring popular local brands, with plans to change operators every two years to maintain novelty
