Sands China once again demonstrated its dedication to community service by supporting two of Caritas Macau’s flagship events – the 56th Charity Bazaar and the 2025 Charity Run.
The company’s MOP 300,000 contribution marks the 22nd consecutive year of donations to the organization, reinforcing a long-standing partnership that promotes inclusion, health, and social welfare across Macao.
At the 2025 Charity Run, held on September 28 at the University of Macau, Sands China donated MOP 100,000 to support the event.
The cheque was presented by Annie Lam, Sands China’s Director of Community Affairs, to Paul Pun Chi Meng, Secretary-General of Caritas Macau. After the ceremony, Sands Cares Ambassadors joined the 5K Healthy Run to encourage active lifestyles, family harmony, and social inclusion.

Guests including Zhao Heqing, deputy director general of the Social Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR; Tang Yuk Wa, deputy director of the Social Welfare Bureau; Tam Wai Fong, member of the Administration Committee on Municipal Affairs of the Municipal Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government; and HeqingSean McCreery, join Sands Cares Ambassadors at their game booth at the 56th Caritas Macau Charity Bazaar Nov. 1 at Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre.
Later, during the 56th Charity Bazaar held on November 1–2 at the Nam Van Nautical Centre, 100 Sands Cares Ambassadors and their family members operated a game booth under the theme “Care and Cherish Each Other. Bring Happiness to All.”
Visitors won prizes including hotel stays and dining vouchers, with all proceeds donated directly to Caritas Macau. This marked Sands China’s 15th consecutive year of participating in the bazaar since first joining in 2011.
During the bazaar’s opening, Sean McCreery, Executive Vice President of Operations of Sands China, presented a MOP 200,000 cheque to Caritas Macau.
The company also purchased cultural and creative products from local social enterprises, such as the Fuhong Society of Macau and the Noah Family Mutual Aid Association, promoting inclusivity and artistic growth among service users.
Dr. Wilfred Wong, Executive Vice Chairman of Sands China Ltd., expressed gratitude toward Caritas Macau, emphasizing the company’s ongoing mission to “give back to the community” through the Sands Cares corporate citizenship program. He praised the long-term collaboration for fostering community care and social cohesion across Macao.
Paul Pun also thanked Sands China for its two decades of commitment, recognizing its volunteers’ consistent engagement as a vital force in ensuring the success of the Charity Bazaar and Run.
All proceeds will go toward enhancing Caritas Macau’s non-subsidised social services, focusing on supporting vulnerable groups, seniors, and families in need.
Since 2004, Sands China has maintained close collaboration with Caritas Macau, offering both financial and practical support.
Beyond annual donations, the company provides assistance through food hamper distributions and logistical aid during typhoon seasons, exemplifying a strong, enduring partnership in community welfare.
