The Macau Organizing Committee for the National Games, together with several government departments, conducted a preliminary rehearsal at 10 a.m. Thursday, completing about 60 percent of the planned process. Committee Director Pun Weng Kun said the route begins at the Government Headquarters and ends at the Ruins of St. Paul’s, taking less than an hour and involving around 120 participants.
Pun noted that a full rehearsal will take place on Friday, with the event’s broadcasting partners joining to test live transmission and the handover ceremony segments.
To minimize disruption to daily life, he said the rehearsals were scheduled to start after 10 a.m., when most residents are at work or school. Road closures will follow a “close and reopen immediately” mechanism to ensure smooth traffic flow.
The official torch relay in Macau is set for November 2, expected to last around two hours and involve a slightly larger scale of participation than the rehearsals. The list of torchbearers will be announced on November 1.
