Macau September GGR hits MOP18.29B, up 6% year-on-year

For the first nine months of 2025, accumulated GGR stood at MOP181.34 billion, up 7.1 percent year-on-year, though still 17.7 percent lower than the same period in 2019.

September’s performance, however, represented a 17.5 percent decline from August’s MOP22.16 billion, the highest monthly total so far this year. The downturn was largely attributed to the impact of two typhoons, which forced casinos to shut down for a combined 33 hours.

Looking ahead, Macau’s casinos are planning large-scale entertainment events, including NBA basketball games — making their first comeback after several years of hiatus — as well as major concerts, following the National Day Golden Week in an effort to sustain and boost gaming momentum.
