The WTT Champions Macau 2025 kicks off today at the East Asian Games Dome and runs through September 14. The event is co-organized by the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, World Table Tennis (WTT) and Galaxy Entertainment Group, in collaboration with the Macau General Table Tennis Association.
A total of 64 elite athletes are competing. On the men’s side, the line-up includes Lin Shidong, current world No. 1, Wang Chuqin, Hugo Calderano, Tomokazu Harimoto and Darko Jorgic. In the women’s draw, the spotlight falls on Sun Yingsha, world No. 1 and 2025 ITTF Women’s World Cup champion, as well as Wang Manyu, Zhu Yuling and Japan’s Miwa Harimoto, Mima Ito and Satsuki Odo. Local athletes He Chon Fai and Kuan Cheok Lam are making their debut in the tournament.
The opening day promises thrilling matches: Lin Shidong faces Kao Cheng-Jui, Wang Chuqin takes on Sora Matsushima, and Hugo Calderano meets An Jaehyun. Among the women, Zhu Yuling plays against Sreeja Akula while Kuan Cheok Lam faces Wang Yidi.
Tickets remain available through the Maoyan app, limited to four per person. The organizers remind the public to purchase only via official channels, as unauthorized resale is prohibited. Children under three who do not occupy a seat may enter free of charge when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.
