Colbert has captivated global audiences with his signature cartoon Lobster character, masterfully blending avant-garde surrealism with bold contemporary appeal.

Lobsters are a symbol of auspiciousness, longevity and eternal love, thus considered to carry blessings with them.

The newly unveiled collectible is a smaller version of Colbert’s original urban sculpture Lobster Cockerel, specially made for Macao – a work created to reflect the thematic essence of the Taipa Houses, one of Macao’s significant scenic spots – as part of Sands China’s community revitalization series.

The bright red Lobster embraces local characteristics by dressing in traditional Portuguese rooster attire and headpiece, transforming into a cultural ambassador celebrating Macao’s unique East-meets-West heritage – a distinctive urban and cultural icon that encapsulates the city’s identity.

Each limited-edition Lobster Cockerel collectible comes with a unique serial number, boosting its value for collectors, and is priced at MOP 4,770.

Starting from today, art enthusiasts are welcome to visit the following purchase points at The Venetian Macao to acquire their own collectible and let Lobster transport them to his realm of artistic wonder:

  • The Venetian Macao’s Outdoor Lagoon Souvenir Shop
  • Boutique Vat Shoppes at Venetian, Level 1, Shop 1036B
  • Emporio Di Gondolaat Shoppes at Venetian, Level 3, Shop 891
  • Boutique Di Gondolaat Shoppes at Venetian, Level 3, Shop 832

Sands China and Philip Colbert have left an indelible artistic legacy in Macao, creating several one-of-a-kind sculptures that now remain on long-term display in the city – beloved by both residents and tourists.

The collaboration on this new collectible is poised to spark a resurgence of pop art enthusiasm.
