2025 Sands China Macao International 10K Set for March 16

The 2025 Sands China Macao International 10K, organized by the Sports Bureau, Sands China Ltd., and the General Association of Athletics of Macau (AGAM), will take place on March 16.

A Growing Sporting Tradition

Mr. Luís Gomes, President of the Sports Bureau, highlighted the event’s growing popularity and its role in promoting local sports development, tourism, and community engagement. He expressed gratitude to all supporting entities for their contributions.

Dr. Wilfred Wong, Executive Vice Chairman of Sands China Ltd., emphasized the race’s significance as a springtime tradition that also serves to promote public health. He hopes that Sands China’s role in helping organize the race will contribute to enhancing Macao’s charm as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure, and elevate Macao’s international status and influence.

Mr. Chan Pou Sin, President of AGAM, noted that the variety of race distances caters to a broad range of sports enthusiasts and expects strong participation this year.

Registrations Open Feb. 8 and Feb. 9

This year’s event offers 7,000 spots for the 10K race and 3,000 for the Fun Run (around 5 km). The 10K begins at 7 a.m., followed by the Fun Run at 7:45 a.m., both starting from Sai Van Lake Square and concluding at the Olympic Sports Centre Stadium.

Registration will be conducted online via www.macao10k.com or the ‘Macao 10K’ mobile app. The 10K category opens for registration on February 8 at 9 a.m., while the Fun Run opens on February 9 at 9 a.m. Slots are limited and will close once full. Accepted payment methods include Visa, MasterCard, UnionPay, MPay, and other digital payment options.

To register, participants must have an online personal account for the ‘Macao International 10K’ or ‘Macao International Marathon.’ Those without an account can create one at URL before registering.

Registered participants can collect their race bibs, timing chips, and event notes at the Olympic Sports Centre – Indoor Pavilion from March 12-15.

Costume Award Returns with ‘Oceanic Run’ theme

The popular ‘Sands 10K Presents: The FUNkiest Costume Award’ is back this year. Themed ‘Oceanic Run,’ runners are encouraged to integrate marine elements into their attire to promote ocean conservation.

Participants can enter by submitting their costume photos via the mobile app between March 15 (9 a.m.) and March 16 (9 a.m.). Winners will receive attractive food and beverage prizes.
