Annual Arts Exhibition Showcases Chinese and Portuguese Contemporary Art

More than 130 pieces and sets of artwork are on display at indoor exhibition venues. Through the unique perspectives and creative expressions of the participating artists, the exhibition explores new artistic contexts that inspire viewers to reflect on the continuity and diversity of cultures.

The “Memories‧Legacies‧Mutations – Annual Arts Exhibition between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries” is part of the 6th “Encounter in Macao – Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries,” jointly organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from its Portuguese acronym) and Wynn Resorts (Macau) S.A.

This exhibition, titled “Memories, Legacies, Mutations,” features over 20 artists from Macao, Mainland China, Portugal, Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe, and East Timor. It covers a diverse range of genres, including painting, video art, and multimedia interactive installations.

Public Artwork

Renowned Brazilian Street artist Eduardo Kobra was invited to create a live public artwork at Rua da Felicidade. The artwork will be exhibited at the same location starting January 2025.

Dates: 25 October 2024 – 9 February 2025 (including public holidays)

Hours: Tuesdays to Sundays, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Venues: Macao Museum of Art and the Exhibitions Gallery of the Taipa Houses

Admission: Free
