The Women’s Volleyball Nations League Macao returned to the city after a four-year hiatus, showcasing Macau’s commitment to sports development and its growing reputation as a premier destination for international sporting events. The tournament featured eight elite women’s national teams from China, Brazil, Italy, Dominican Republic, Japan, Netherlands, Thailand, and France competing at the world-class Galaxy Arena. The state-of-the-art venue, with its cutting-edge facilities, equipment and multimedia capabilities, provided an exceptional stage for the high-level competition.

In addition to the captivating on-court action, GEG and the organizers hosted a variety of engaging community outreach activities. These included autograph sessions and sharing sessions with players from the China Women’s National Volleyball Team, providing unique opportunities for local students, social service organizations, and community groups to interact with the athletes. The organizers also facilitated a ceremonial donation of volleyballs to different communities, further strengthening the connection between the event and Macau’s residents.

The event also provided a platform for local small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as social service organizations, to showcase their products, services and initiatives, contributing to the overall vibrancy and community involvement. Visitors were able to explore a variety of food and retail options, as well as interactive exhibits and demonstrations related to the sport of volleyball.

Moving forward, GEG will continue to support, organize, and participate in various sports events and activities, aligning with the Macau SAR Government’s vision to develop Macau as the “World Centre of Tourism and Leisure” and solidify its position as the “City of Sports.” The company’s commitment to sports development and community engagement aims to further enhance Macau’s reputation as a vibrant, inclusive and dynamic destination.
