Three new features at the Macau International Fair

The 1st China–Portuguese Speaking Countries (Macau) Economic and Trade Exhibition (1st C-PLPEX), the 28th Macau International Fair (28th MIF) and the 2023 Macau Franchise Exhibition (2023MFE ) will be held simultaneously between 19 and 22 October 2023, at Cotai Expo at The Venetian Macau.

More than 60 events will take place over the four-day event, with U U Sang, president of the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), describing the exhibitions as “three new features”.

For the first time, the venue for the three exhibitions covers four pavilions, with 37,000 square meters of exhibition area and more than 2,000 stalls, representing an increase of 26 and 11 percent, respectively, compared to last year.

The number of in-person exhibitors at the three exhibitions exceeds 1,200, with more than 260 from Portuguese-speaking countries. Among these, 76 exhibitors came from Brazil, the largest number of exhibitors, brands and delegations from the South American country recorded in all editions so far. In total, the three exhibitions attracted exhibitors from 15 countries and regions.

The 1st C-PLPEX brings together companies from China and nine Portuguese-speaking countries, from industries such as cutting-edge technology, modern finance, tourism, creative industries, food and beverages, etc.

Cross-border e-commerce companies from Portuguese-speaking countries also participate in the exhibition for the first time, with the aim of expanding their international market.

Exchange sessions will also take place in the same location; forums; industrial, commercial and economic conferences; selection and evaluation of wines and coffee beans, among other activities.

New brands and specialized companies also make their debut at the event, including Tmall International, Douyin, Kwai do Brasil, the well-known video sharing site from Mainland China, Bilibili, and other renowned brands from Mainland China and from Thailand.

For the first time, the three exhibitions launched a multi-business partnership program to strengthen mutual promotion and support among more than 20 local and foreign partners.

The three exhibitions have a total of 20 exhibition areas, with the 1st C-PLPEX and MFE occupying seven each, and the 28th MIF six. At the same time, the sub-exhibitions “2023 China Traditional Chinese Medicine Health Brand Exhibition (Macau)” and the “2023 Science and Technology Week and Innovation and Technology Results Exhibition” are taking place.

In order to increase the effectiveness of the objectives “encouraging exhibitions via conventions” and “attracting investments through exhibitions”, the three fairs will organize more than 60 events. These include nine thematic networking sessions, four activities organized under the “One Event, Two Locations” model in Macau and Hengqin, as well as a series of forums and parallel activities, with a view to boosting the commercial platform role of displays.
