Brazil received almost three million foreign tourists during the first five months of the year.
Official data indicate that it was an increase of 108% in relation to those who were in the country in the same period last year.
According to figures released by the Ministry of Tourism, of the 2.97 million foreigners who visited a destination in Brazil between January and May, Argentineans top the list with more than 1.2 million tourists.
In second place were the Americans (271.1 thousand), followed by Paraguayans (215.5 thousand), Chileans (197.826 thousand) and Uruguayans (184.947 thousand).
The states through which most international travelers entered the country were São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul, Rio de Janeiro, Paraná and Santa Catarina.
This is the confirmation that 2023 is being the year of tourism recovery in Brazil.
