Russia announced this Tuesday that it had shot down five ‘drones’ that were flying over the Moscow region, an attack that it attributed to Kiev and that, according to it, could only have occurred with the help of the United States and NATO.

In turn, Ukraine referred this Tuesday to several Russian attacks, in particular the one carried out in the region of Kharkiv, northeast of the country, which caused 38 injuries, including 12 children.

The attack in Russia targeted places in the Moscow region and surroundings, which since the beginning of the offensive in Ukraine have already been selected a few times but without serious consequences, according to international agencies.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, four ‘drones’ (unmanned aerial devices) were destroyed by anti-aircraft defense near the capital and a fifth was neutralized by “electronic means of warfare”, before crashing in the Moscow region.

The attack did not cause casualties or damage, underlined the ministry.

“All attacks were repelled by anti-aircraft defense, all ‘drones’ detected were neutralized,” said the mayor of Moscow, Serguei Sobianine, in a message published on the Telegram platform.

However, the attack disrupted the operation of Vnoukovo airport, one of the three major international airports in Moscow, for three hours.

One of the ‘drones’ was neutralized near Koubinka, located 40 kilometers from the airport.

“These attacks would not have been possible without the help provided to the Kiev regime by the United States and its NATO allies”, assured, in turn, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Westerners “train drone operators and provide the information necessary to commit similar crimes,” he added.

After the attack, the spokeswoman for Russian diplomacy, Maria Zakharova, denounced on Telegram a “terrorist act” that tried to reach an area where “civil infrastructure” is located.

The Russian military offensive in Ukrainian territory, launched on February 24 last year, plunged Europe into what is considered the most serious security crisis since the Second World War (1939-1945).

The Russian invasion – justified by the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, with the need to “denazify” and demilitarize Ukraine for Russia’s security – was condemned by the international community in general, which has responded by sending arms to Ukraine and imposing it on Russia of political and economic sanctions.
