Since yesterday, the National Health Commission has stopped reporting the number of asymptomatic cases, the vast majority of covid-19 infections, since those who do not have symptoms are exempt from testing. Therefore, the Chinese official says he can no longer do a rigorous accounting of cases. Macau may, once again, follow in the country’s footsteps, according to statements made yesterday by the Director of Health Services (SSM), Alvis Lo, on the Forum Macau program on the Chinese channel of Radio Macau.
The official said that, at the moment, the evolution of the number of infections is relatively stable, and that the pandemic peak can be reached in the third or fourth week after the easing of restrictions, that is, in mid-January.
