Beijing closes parks and museums due to rising cases in China

Beijing closed parks, malls and museums on Tuesday as more Chinese cities resumed mass testing for Covid-19 amid a surge in cases that has deepened concern about the economy and dimmed hopes for a quick reopening.

China reported 28,127 new domestically transmitted cases on Monday, approaching April’s daily peak, with infections in the southern city of Guangzhou and southwest Chongqing accounting for about half of the total.
