Alleged sexual harassment messages shared: “This girl stopped playing football…”

Several players from Rio Ave’s senior women’s football team accuse former coach Miguel Afonso of sexual harassment, cases that will have occurred in the 2020-21 season, reports this Thursday the newspaper Público.

The case generated several reactions, namely from Mariana Vaz Pinto. The former B SAD team manager shared alleged messages from Miguel Afonso on Twitter and asked the current club of the coach accused of sexual harassment to take action.

“This girl stopped playing football because of this man and this kind of bullying/harassment… need I say more? Shall we continue to close our eyes? @FCF_Feminino wasn’t this enough for you to remove the coach and protect your club and squad?”, asks Mariana.
