Joe Biden’s statements about possible help to Taiwan in the event of Chinese intervention further deepen the climate of tension between China and the United States.
China yesterday considered the comments of US President Joe Biden, who assured that the United States would defend Taiwan in the event of Chinese intervention, a “grave violation” of diplomatic commitments made by Washington.
Asked by the US channel CBS if “the US would defend Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion”, Biden replied that “yes, if an unprecedented attack occurs”.
