The government is to declare a state of alert as of Friday due to the high risk of forest fires over the next few days.

“The Government will trigger the declaration of alert to limit all actions that could endanger the populations and create all the conditions to ensure the mobilization of necessary and indispensable resources for the effort that the coming days will require,” said the Minister of Internal Administration to journalists.
José Luís Carneiro advanced that, in the coming days, there will be a high degree of meteorological severity in which the humidity levels will be very low and the temperatures very high with very dry vegetation.
