Tarcísio de Freitas says he puts his face in the fire for Bolsonaro: “Without a shadow of a doubt”
Candidate for the government of São Paulo and former Minister of Infrastructure, Tarcisio Gomes de Freitas (Republicans) was a guest on the program ‘Roda Viva’, of TV Cultura, and defended President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) on recent government corruption scandals.
The statement comes after the scandal in the Ministry of Education (MEC) that led to an investigation of former minister Milton Ribeiro, arrested in Operation Paid Access. According to the Federal Public Ministry (MPF), there are suspicions of interference of the president in the investigations of the Federal Police.
When asked by journalist Cátia Seabra if he would put his face to the fire for the president, Tarcisio defended the head of the Executive. The question makes reference to the statement given by Bolsonaro about former minister Milton Ribeiro. After the PF operation, he said he “exaggerated” and that he “put his hand in the fire”.
