Audio shows Trump’s attempt to alter Georgia election result

On the phone, the president of the United States Donald Trump presses local secretary of state to ‘find votes’ to overcome Biden.

Less than 20 days from having to leave the White House after being defeated at the polls by Joe Biden, President Donald Trump made a new effort to try to reverse the Democrat’s victory by putting pressure on Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a “find” enough votes in your favor.

This time, however, the appeals of the Republican leader border on despair and, according to legal analysts, illegality and immorality. The case emerged from a report published by the Washington Post on Sunday afternoon (3).

The American newspaper had access to the recording of a phone call between Trump and Raffensperger, made on Saturday (2). According to the material found, in about an hour of conversation, the president scolded the secretary, then tried to flatter him, begged for help and threatened him with vague criminal consequences.
Biden defeated Trump in Georgia by receiving 2,473,633 votes, equivalent to 49.5% of the total. The Republican won 2,461,854 (49.3%), making a difference of exactly 11,779 votes.

“See, all I want to do is this: I just want to find 11,780 votes, one more than we have [in difference]. Because we won the [Georgia] state, ”Trump said in the call, contrary to official election figures.
