Brazil facilitates import of revolvers and pistols

Brazil will stop charging the import tax for revolvers and pistols, currently 20%, informed the Foreign Trade Chamber (Camex) today in a resolution published in the Official Gazette (DOU).

The decision was celebrated by the Brazilian President, Jair Bolsonaro, who published a photo on the social network Facebook holding a gun inside a place used for training and practice of shooting sports.

“Camex issued a resolution setting the Arms Import Tax Rate (revolvers and pistols) to zero. The measure goes into effect on January 1, 2021 ”, reinforced the Brazilian head of state.

Easing the rules for possession and possession of weapons in Brazil are Bolsonaro’s campaign promises.
