The Macao Meteorological and Geophysical Services (SMG) issued a tropical storm alert today.
Macau authorities indicated that signal number 1 was issued “at 10 pm (3 pm in Lisbon)”, when the tropical depression was “about 770 kilometers” southeast of Macau, they said in a statement.
The tropical depression “is gradually getting worse and will continue to move westwards” towards Hainão, in southern China, the same note added.
SMGs also reported that there is a “relatively high probability” of emitting signal number 3 on Monday night.
