Investing in nature and biodiversity can help tackle climate crises

The crisis created by Covid-19 is a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of neglecting biophysical risks for human well-being, business and economies

This month, world leaders and experts met at the United Nations General Assembly (UN). The conference emphasized the need to safeguard nature and drive the development of the post-2020 Biodiversity Framework. Last year, the United Nations Climate Summit also focused on the climate emergency.

Just as our societies and economies are inextricably linked and dependent on biodiversity, the loss of nature and climate change are also related – and great benefits for people and the planet can be achieved if they are tackled together. The Covid-19 pandemic proved to be crucial for a fundamental shift towards zero net worth and positive for nature economies.
