Foreigners working in Angola to quarantine at home

Foreigners with a work visa will be able to return to Angola and quarantine at home.

According to presidential decree no. 229/20, which updates the measures in force in the situation of public calamity in the next 30 days, although Angola keeps its borders closed to contain the pandemic of covid-19, entry and exit are now allowed the territory of foreign professionals who provide services in Angola and citizens with work visas, without requiring any type of authorization.

Official travel, return of nationals and resident foreigners, return of foreigners, entry and exit of goods and humanitarian aid, medical emergencies, technical stopovers, entry and exit of diplomatic and consular personnel and transfer of corpses are permitted, provided that the cause of death is not covid-19.

Entrances and departures from Angola are dependent on a pre-departure RT-PCR test with a negative result, carried out within 72 hours prior to the trip.

The decree authorizes the gradual resumption of domestic flights from September 14 and international flights from September 21, with home quarantine being mandatory for all passengers, including non-resident foreigners from abroad, unless the health authorities consider that there are no conditions for this.
