The Government sent a letter to the World Health Organization to express intention on pre-ordering vaccines.
«The Government has already sent a letter to the Vaccine Alliance, to express our intention to purchase vaccines and participate in the scheme. At present, we are waiting for WHO and GAVI for further information, and we will follow up on the purchase status. Besides, the government also directly contacted a few producers who have entered the third phase of trials. We hope to purchase enough vaccines for all Macau residents. However, everyone should understand that the vaccines have not completed the research and development stage. And that the global supply will be difficult to achieve. The WHO last Friday said that the vaccines will be first given priority to high-risk groups and front-line personnel.»
