Angola’s First Lady Receives Covid-19 Protection Material from China’s First Lady

The first lady of the Republic, Ana Dias Lourenço, received, yesterday, in Luanda, a donation made up of biosafety material, aimed at supporting children, women and young people, affected by the Covid-19 pandemic

Comprised of 18,000 units of surgical masks, 5,000 pairs of examination gloves, 120 units of thermometers and 360 units of hand sanitizers, the donation was made by China’s first lady, Peng Liyuan, wife of President Xi Jinping.

The delivery of the material, made by the Chinese ambassador to Angola, Gong Tao, took place in Cidade Alta, during an audience that Ana Dias Lourenço granted to the Chinese diplomat. Peng Liyuan’s gesture responds to the call of the African first ladies, who recently requested support for women and children in vulnerable situations.
