Sands China fully supports the Macao SAR government’s latest initiative, “Leisure Bus: Exploring the Community,” which aims to attract visitors to local community areas and encourage spending in neighbourhood businesses.

In collaboration with various government departments, Sands China is helping leverage Macao’s cultural and tourism resources to support the project.

The initiative builds on the shuttle bus services already provided by integrated tourism and leisure enterprises.

Its current trial run introduces new routes with community drop-off points from Cotai to the Northern District, the ZAPE Area, Rua dos Ervanários in the Central and Southern Districts, the Barra District and other locations, making it easier for visitors to explore different parts of Macao.

The programme is designed to support the government’s efforts to promote community economic growth and help small and medium-sized enterprises in local districts attract more customers.

Dr. Wilfred Wong, Executive Vice Chairman of Sands China Ltd., said: “Sands China has long been committed to supporting the Macao SAR government’s directives on moderate economic diversification through a wide range of initiatives to revive the community economy. All integrated tourism and leisure enterprises in Macao are supporting this new initiative by making use of our resources to help conveniently transport visitors to the local community. This collective support is designed to foster synergy between Macao’s leisure and tourism sectors and the community economy, together contributing to the city’s sustainable economic development.”
