Brazilian Ambassador in Beijing calls for changes at Macau Forum

The Brazilian ambassador in Beijing this Friday called on the Macau Forum to focus on the least developed countries, pointing out that the organization “was never central” to the relationship between Brazil and China.

“The most promising would be for China to seek to use the forum to promote projects that benefit the least developed countries in the community of Portuguese-speaking countries,” Paulo Estivallet de Mesquita told the Lusa agency in Beijing.

“At this point, we think there is still much to be done,” he said.

As part of the Macau Forum, China created a Development Cooperation Fund between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, worth US $ 1 billion (€ 879 billion), and managed by the China Development Bank (CDB).
