The Government defended the decision to maintain restrictions on travelers from countries outside the European Union.
The Italian Minister of Health said on Thursday that the country could face a second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic and justified the limitations to travelers from countries outside the European Union (EU) with the prevention of new contagions.
“The scientific community does not rule out [a second wave],” Roberto Speranza told RAI television. “We hope it doesn’t happen, but, given the risk, we must maintain the precautionary rules, that is, wear a mask, avoid gatherings and wash our hands”, he added, also pointing to the strengthening of the health system.
