Angola is in the top 10, in the world ranking of the countries that most contributed to the generation of energy from dams, the result of investments made in Laúca in the last eight years.
Angola contributed about 344 MW, ranking 7th, according to the Hydroelectric Status Report in 2020 of the world association of dams.
According to the document, which presents the latest data on installed capacity and generation worldwide, the main trends and perspectives of the hydroelectric sector, the ranking is led by Brazil, with a 4919MW electrical system throughput.
