Xi Jinping, secretary general of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, said on Monday that all ethnic groups are part of the large family of the Chinese nation and that no ethnic group should be left behind in the country’s fight against poverty, in the construction of a moderately prosperous society in all aspects and in the impulse to modernization.
Xi made the remarks when he spoke with residents in the square of the Jinhuayuan residential condominium in the city of Wuzhong, during his inspection visit to the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of northwest China.
The condominium has more than 13,000 permanent inhabitants, almost half of which belong to ethnic minority groups.
People of all ethnic groups walk hand in hand towards a moderately prosperous society in all aspects, this represents the good tradition of the Chinese nation and the great strength of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics, said Xi.
“With the continued efforts of the Party and the government, as well as the tireless efforts of the people, the days ahead will certainly be better and happier,” added Xi.
