Mozambique recorded, in the last 24 hours, another 10 positive cases of covid-19, increasing the total of infected people from 234 to 244, keeping the two deaths registered, announced today the director of Public Health, Rosa Marlene.
“They are all citizens of Mozambican nationality and, of the total number, five are asymptomatic and the others have mild to moderate symptoms,” said Rosa Marlene, speaking during the update of data on the pandemic at the Ministry of Health in Maputo. The 10 new cases were registered in the provinces of Nampula (two), Cabo Delgado (five) and Cidade Maputo (three), with a child under the age of five among the patients.
“The cases are in isolation at home and the process of mapping contacts is currently underway,” said Rosa Marlene.
Of the 244 cases registered in Mozambique, 218 are locally transmitted and 26 are imported, with two deaths and two people hospitalized. Authorities indicate that 90 people are recovered.
