Sands China Ltd. has announced its Community Revitalization Programme 2.0 for Rua das Estalagens at The Londoner Macao, presenting two complementary initiatives aimed at enhancing the district’s economic vitality and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The Entrepreneurship Recruitment Programme 2.0 seeks to attract a new cohort of local entrepreneurs to establish businesses on the historic street.
Applicants must commit a minimum initial investment of MOP 300,000 and may receive subsidies of up to MOP 1 million, depending on factors such as innovation, market potential, and operational experience.
Applicants are required to invest at least MOP 50,000 and may receive subsidies of up to MOP 500,000, contributing to improved competitiveness and overall district revitalization.

At the press conference, representatives from four distinguished businesses from the first Community Revitalization Programme for Rua das Estalagens share their experiences of starting a business on Rua das Estalagens.
Since the Macau SAR government launched its revitalization plan in 2023, Sands China has collaborated with multiple stakeholders to promote sustainable development in historic districts.
The first phase of the programme, launched in 2024, selected seven enterprises from 128 applications, spanning cultural and creative retail and food and beverage sectors.
The initiative has since contributed to increased foot traffic, visibility, and commercial activity in Rua das Estalagens.
Yau Yun Wah, Director of the Economic and Technological Development Bureau, stated: “Launched in 2024, the first edition of the Entrepreneurship Recruitment Programme 2.0 for Rua das Estalagens not only captured the attention of local young entrepreneurs, but also successfully helped put a series of creative business plans into action. This encouraging result has infused Rua das Estalagens with new commercial vision and vitality. Meanwhile, the inaugural Shop Rebranding Programme under the company’s Community Revitalization Programme 2.0 for Rua das Estalagens aims to empower existing shops to strengthen their brands through upgrades and transformation, thereby enhancing their competitiveness.”

This represents a deeper and more concrete implementation of the concept of ‘integrating the old with the new.’”
Sands China announced its new Community Revitalization Programme 2.0 for Rua das Estalagens April 29, continuing to demonstrate its unwavering support for the Macao SAR government’s directive on promoting and fostering the city’s economic diversification.
The programme is supported by multiple government departments and organisations, aligning with Macau’s policy direction for economic diversification and SME development.
