Beijing reacted against the US State Department’s approval of a plan to sell $ 180 million worth of weapons to Taiwan
China is firmly opposed to US arms sales to the Chinese region of Taiwan, said Ma Xiaoguang, a spokesman for the Taiwanese State Council Affairs Department.
“China is resolutely opposed to the United States having military ties or any other form of official contact with Taiwan,” said the official.
Ma made these observations when answering a question about the US State Department’s approval of a plan to sell $ 180 million worth of weapons to Taiwan.
“The Taiwanese Democratic Progressive Party authority has repeatedly bought arms from the United States with taxpayers’ money. This will only damage peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and harm the interests of the people of Taiwan,” he concluded.
