Mota-Engil wins 337 million project in LNG project in Mozambique
The Mota-Engil group secured the first construction contract for the start-up of the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project in the province of Cabo Delgado, in Mozambique, in the amount of 365 million dollars (about 337.3 million euros).
Mozambique’s LNG project could place this African country in the world’s top 5 in gas production. For this endeavor, whose client is CCS JV, Mota-Engil África entered into a 50/50 partnership with BESIX, a Belgian company specializing in maritime works. The contract includes the construction of a pier bridge and a material unloading platform, in a project that is expected to last 32 months, starting in the first half of this year.
