Doubts over US-OPEC deal puts oil prices under pressure

Oil prices came under pressure on Monday (13) for doubts that a record deal between the United States and OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) to reduce supply will be enough to help a market devastated by the coronavirus pandemic.

OPEC and its allies, including Russia, signed an agreement on Sunday (12) to reduce the global supply by almost 10%, winning the support of the United States and other G-20 countries for additional measures to strengthen a market whose demand dropped by up to a third.
