Four thousand vehicles from Macau and Hong Kong circulate daily in the Chinese province of Guangdong

Around 4,000 private vehicles from Macau and Hong Kong have circulated daily since January in Guangdong province, reported today the Chinese state television channel CCTV.

The vehicle movement measure for Macau in that province began on January 1, while for Hong Kong it started earlier this month, with private vehicles entering Guangdong through the border crossing in Zhuhai of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau bridge.

In all, the Chinese authorities registered more than 500,000 vehicles from the two Chinese special administrative regions circulating in Guangdong, with a single registration.

“The circulation of Macao vehicles in Guangdong province is an important initiative to promote connections between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao and advance the construction of the Greater Bay Area”, said CCTV.

Vehicles can enter and leave Guangdong multiple times, as long as the period of stay does not exceed the validity of the license, the stay for each entry in Guangdong does not exceed 30 consecutive days, and the annual stay does not exceed 180 cumulative days.

To obtain that license, Macao residents must be over 18 years old and hold a safe-conduct pass to travel to mainland China.
