Justin Trudeau made sure his girlfriend Katy Perry was well protected from the sun during a romantic getaway in the South of France, spotted applying sunscreen to her as the couple set sail on a sunset boat trip with friends.
Perry, 41, appeared relaxed and at ease as the former Canadian prime minister tended to her during the outing. She wore a baby blue bodycon dress for the excursion, with her hair pulled back into a sleek bun and brown sunglasses shielding her eyes.
Trudeau, 54, kept things casual in khaki pants, a forest green button-down shirt and Birkenstock sandals. The pair also spent time at Club 55 during their trip, taking a swim and enjoying drinks together.
The outing comes as the couple approaches their one-year anniversary, having only recently made their public red carpet debut together.

Trudeau accompanied Perry to the premiere of “Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris” at the Tribeca Film Festival in June, where Perry told a moderator she was very much in love, reflecting on how meeting Trudeau had grounded her emotionally around the time of that Paris concert, describing herself as something like a rainbow kite that occasionally needs an anchor, and saying she finally feels whole now that she has one.
The relationship began nearly a year ago, after the two were first spotted dining together at a restaurant in Montreal last July. A source told The Sun at the time that Trudeau had been single for a while and was enjoying getting to know Perry, noting that the two connected easily over shared interests and conversation.
The source added that Trudeau found their conversations refreshing, and that Perry appreciated his understated, respectful demeanor, particularly given her recent split from Orlando Bloom.
Perry and Bloom confirmed their breakup last summer after more than a decade together, while Trudeau separated from his wife of 18 years, Sophie Grégoire, in 2023. A source described the early stages of Trudeau and Perry’s relationship as mutual interest that would take time to develop, noting that Perry was frequently traveling the world while Trudeau was adjusting to life after leaving office, but that the two clearly had a lot in common.

After Perry publicly confirmed the relationship on social media in December, a source told People that Trudeau’s persistence had ultimately made the difference, noting that Perry hadn’t been looking to date, let alone find a boyfriend, when they first spent time together.
The source said Trudeau repeatedly demonstrated genuine interest, including traveling internationally to see Perry while she was on tour, and that she came to enjoy his company, feeling flattered by the effort he put into pursuing the relationship and excited to be dating him.
