The Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner, currently the world number one, qualified today for the second round of Roland Garros, the second Grand Slam of the season, after defeating the Frenchman Clement Tabur in three sets.
In pursuit of winning the only major missing from his resume, Sinner, a finalist in 2025, made his debut in Paris with a triumph over wildcard recipient Tabur, ranked 171st in the world, by 6-2, 6-3, and 6-4, in two hours and eight minutes.

After securing his 30th consecutive victory, Sinner, who has not lost since the quarterfinals in Doha, will face the Argentinian Juan Manuel Cerundolo (56th), who eliminated the British player Jacob Fearnley (125th).
