Iran War: US demands surrender of enriched uranium (with video)

The United States has demanded that Iran hand over its highly enriched uranium stockpile and restrict its entire nuclear program to a single active facility as non-negotiable conditions to advance peace talks, official sources indicated today.

According to reports from the Iranian state-run Fars news agency, which is closely linked to the Revolutionary Guard, Washington is also demanding that Tehran completely renounce any claims to war reparations or financial compensation.

Fars detailed that the U.S. administration countered Tehran’s most recent diplomatic proposal with several sweeping demands. Chief among them is the immediate surrender of 440 kilograms of Iranian uranium enriched to sixty percent. Under these conditions, the Islamic Republic would also be permitted to operate only one functioning nuclear installation.

Furthermore, the state media report indicated that Washington will refuse to pay any indemnities for damages caused by the conflict and will decline to unfreeze even twenty-five percent of Iranian assets currently blocked abroad, flatly rejecting Tehran’s core economic demands.

The news agency added that the United States is conditioning a cessation of hostilities across all regional military fronts on the immediate progress of these direct negotiations. However, Fars noted that from Tehran’s perspective, even if Iran were to accept these strict parameters, the threat of renewed military aggression from the United States and Israel would remain a persistent danger.

This diplomatic update emerges just one day after Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Tehran, reportedly acting as an intermediary to deliver a direct message from the United States to the Iranian leadership.

Prior to this exchange, Iran had publicly conditioned any fresh negotiations regarding its nuclear program on a total end to the war on all fronts, the immediate lifting of international economic sanctions, the release of its frozen foreign funds, war damages compensation, and the formal recognition of Iranian sovereignty over the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

U.S. President Donald Trump aggressively dismissed Tehran’s stance on Monday, labeling the Iranian proposal “unacceptable” and “a piece of trash” while warning that the current truce, in effect since April 8, remains incredibly fragile.

Meanwhile, speaking on the sidelines of the BRICS ministerial meeting in New Delhi on Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that despite the high-stakes impasse in formal talks, both nations continue to exchange diplomatic messages at a slow pace.
