The European Union’s top diplomat, Kaja Kallas, held talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to address the “urgent priority” of reopening the Strait of Hormuz, which has been nearly paralyzed due to the Middle East conflict.
Kallas wrote on social media that the conversation focused on Iran’s actions, the global economic impact, energy security, and EU-China relations. She highlighted that attacks on civilian vessels and the threat of further strikes have brought traffic in the Strait of Hormuz to a near standstill.
