Around 12 tonnes of KitKat chocolates, equivalent to 413,793 bars, were stolen this week after leaving a factory in Italy, according to Nestlé.
The company said the truck carrying the shipment has not yet been located, with the theft occurring somewhere between the production site and distribution stage. The chocolates were destined for markets across Europe.
Nestlé warned that the stolen products could end up being sold through unauthorized channels, urging both consumers and retailers to verify items using barcode information to identify whether they belong to the missing batch.

The company said it chose to make the case public to raise awareness and help prevent the circulation of the stolen goods.
