Sands China hosted the Sands China Distinguished Speaker Forum Series – The Spirit of NPC and CPPCC on Thursday at The Londoner Macao.

Gathering around 200 team members alongside five delegates from the National People’s Congress (NPC) and Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

The session was also livestreamed for Sands China’s more than 28,000 employees, extending access to insights from the recent Two Sessions.

Moderated by Dr. Wilfred Wong, Executive Vice Chairman of Sands China Ltd., the seminar addressed key national and regional priorities, including Macao’s economic diversification, integration with Hengqin, and talent development.

The event aimed to enhance understanding of national strategies and their relevance to Macao’s socio-economic planning.

“This year marks the beginning of the nation’s 15th Five-Year Plan and is also a key juncture in Macao’s Third Five-Year Plan. Sands China was privileged to invite five Macao delegates of the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference for a sharing session, where they offered valuable insights on matters related to Macao’s long-term economic and social development discussed at this year’s sessions. Today’s sharing session also served to encourage all team members to embrace the spirit of the Two Sessions and seize the opportunities arising from the nation’s development landscape and Macao’s diversified planning initiatives.

“We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Liaison Office and the Macao SAR government for their ongoing guidance and support, as well as to our five distinguished guests for taking time out of their busy schedules to join us, contributing to the great success of today’s sharing session. Sands China remains committed to fully supporting Macao’s deeper integration into the nation’s overall development and contributing to advancing the moderate and high-quality diversification of Macao’s economy,” said Dr. Wong.

Speakers included Kou Hoi In, Ho Ion Sang, Ng Sio Lai, Lee Chong Cheng and Wong Kit Cheng, who shared perspectives on topics such as institutional integration between Hengqin and Macao, talent development, social welfare, and infrastructure connectivity.

Discussions also highlighted the importance of aligning with national strategies, improving cross-border mobility, and advancing Macao’s “1+4” economic diversification model.

The forum forms part of Sands China’s broader efforts to strengthen professional knowledge among employees and support Macao’s positioning as a world centre of tourism and leisure.

Through initiatives such as training programmes, exchange activities and speaker forums, the company continues to promote awareness of national development and industry trends.
