Disruptive passengers may be banned from flying in Brazil for up to one year

Proposal has support from airlines, which estimate a 66% increase in incidents

Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency is proposing new rules to deal with disruptive passengers who refuse to comply with rules and instructions on board and disturb order and discipline at the airport or on the aircraft.

The proposal foresees a fine of up to R$17,500 ($3,300) and the inclusion of the passenger on a “no fly list”, which would prevent them from boarding any domestic flight for up to 12 months.
