Cristiano Ronaldo Acquires 25% Stake in Spanish second tier club

The deal was confirmed this week and marks the Portuguese international’s entry into Spanish football as an investor.

Cristiano Ronaldo has acquired a 25% stake in UD Almería, becoming part of the shareholder structure of the Spanish club competing in LaLiga Hypermotion.

The stake was acquired through CR7 Sports Investments, the entity created to manage Ronaldo’s investments in the sports sector. The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed and were described as a strategic medium- to long-term investment.

In statements reported by the press, Cristiano Ronaldo highlighted his ambition to remain connected to football beyond his playing career, emphasizing Almería’s sporting and structural potential. The Andalusian club is currently majority-owned by Saudi capital and aims to return to Spain’s top division.
