Social media platform X suffers global outage

The social media platform X, owned by entrepreneur Elon Musk, experienced a global service outage on Monday, preventing thousands of users from viewing or sharing messages. The problem mainly affected the browser version of the platform, which failed to load properly.

According to Down Detector, a website that tracks real-time outages in online services, reports of the disruption began appearing after 2:00 PM (Portugal time). More than 3,000 users in Spain reported issues to the platform, with similar incidents reported in other countries.

Users attempting to access x.com were greeted with the message: “Something went wrong. Please try reloading”, making it impossible to navigate or interact normally. The outage caused frustration among users, many of whom turned to other social media platforms to report the problem.

Industry sources suggest the issue may be related to recent updates to the platform’s infrastructure or server overload, although the company has not confirmed the cause. The outage highlights the growing dependence of millions of users on digital services for communication and information.
