Sands China once again earned the “Top Employer” certification in 2026, in recognition of its outstanding human resources strategies and performance.
Sands China Ltd. has retained the Top Employer certification from the Top Employer Institute for a second consecutive year, joining 2,500 certified organisations worldwide and demonstrating sustained alignment with international HR standards.
The recognition reflects exceptional performance across more than 200 assessment criteria. Including leadership, talent acquisition, workplace environment, rewards, and recognition, it highlights the company’s strategic human resources capabilities.
Notably, the Top Employer Institute featured Sands China’s initiative to create roles specifically for people with disabilities in its white paper, showcasing the company’s practical commitment to diversity and inclusion.
As Macao’s largest private employer, Sands China’s near-28,000-strong workforce benefits from comprehensive talent pipelines, with more than 1,400 job roles spanning MICE, hospitality, entertainment, retail and sports events, and over 90,000 employment opportunities created to date for residents through the company’s operations and partnerships.
Grant Chum, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Sands China Ltd., said: “Receiving the Top Employer certification for two consecutive years is a strong endorsement of our talent strategy and corporate culture. It reaffirms our steadfast commitment to a people-oriented approach and to nurturing talent for Macao. Our team members are the company’s most valuable asset, and being a dedicated employer remains our guiding principle. We have hence continuously strived to provide our team with a supportive work environment and innovative initiatives that enhance both career and personal development. We sincerely thank the Macao SAR government and the wider community for their ongoing support in strengthening Macao’s talent pool and driving diversified development as we continue to cultivate more high-quality talent to foster Macao’s economic diversification.”
Sands China’s HR approach rests on three pillars – attracting, developing, and retaining talent – supported by more than ten elite development programmes and eight professional academies under the Sands China Academy.
Recent initiatives include the Integrated Resort Leader Development Programme and an AI up-skilling programme introduced in 2025, alongside family-friendly policies such as paid Child Care Leave and a Parenthood Support Shift.
By the end of 2025, over 14,000 team members had served 10 years or more, representing nearly half of the workforce.
The certification and concurrent industry awards (32 HR recognitions in 2025) strengthen Sands China’s employer brand and competitive positioning for talent attraction in Macao’s evolving labour market.
