Organised by the Department for the Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine Services and the WHO Collaborating Centre for Traditional Medicine (Macau), the meeting presented the main work plans for 2025 and addressed the implementation of the Government’s Policy measures. The session was also attended by Liu Dun, Deputy Director of the Department of Social Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR.
Cheang Seng Ip, Deputy Director of the Health Bureau, noted that under the “Healthy Macau Action Plan”, efforts to promote TCM have been strengthened. Since 2023, more than 100 health talks have been delivered, attracting over 10,000 participants, and 47 TCM practitioners have been recruited as “Health Promotion Ambassadors”. In 2025, a guidance plan for young TCM practitioners was launched to support their professional development.
Mo Hui, Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Traditional Medicine (Macau), presented a review of the 2025 initiatives in international exchange, professional training and cultural promotion, stressing continued cooperation with the sector.
During the colloquium, participants put forward suggestions on the training of young practitioners, enhanced public-private cooperation and the creation of further opportunities in the Greater Bay Area, in a discussion marked by active engagement from the sector.
