Macau included in new US chip export rules for China

Macau is part of a new policy shift by the commercial authorities in the United States that recently eased their rules on semiconductor exports to China.

According to a rule announcement by the Industry and Security Bureau under the Department of Commerce on 15 January, instead of a “presumption of denial” approach, the U.S. has already transitioned to a stance that focuses on case‑by‑case review.

The recent rule change covers Nvidia H200 and its equivalents, as well as less advanced chips.
