Flights at Leipzig/Halle Airport in Germany, a major cargo hub, were suspended overnight after the sighting of a flying object and the discovery of another one near a runway, police reported.
Several flights, including a passenger flight, were diverted to other airports following the sighting of the object near the airport, shortly before midnight.

Police said a bomb disposal robot was deployed to inspect the object found near the airport’s southern runway, but provided no further details. Flights using the other runway resumed shortly before 2:00 am local time (1:00 am in Lisbon), but the southern runway remained closed as of early this morning, according to police.
