Macau Chief Executive hopes to make official visit to Portugal in “April or May” 2026

The Chief Executive of Macau hopes to conduct his official visit to Portugal in the first half of 2026, targeting "April or May."

During his question-and-answer session with the press after presenting the Government Action Lines, Sam Hou Fai also indicated that he wants his first official visit abroad as Chief Executive to be to Portugal, but noted that negotiations are still ongoing with the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Initially, Sam Hou Fai’s official visit to Portugal, which included a stop in Spain, was scheduled for the period between September 16 and 23.

However, just a few days before the trip, the Executive announced a postponement, without providing an official justification or a new date.
